Conversations with Calliope: A Writer's Year With His Muse

When I tell people I write for a living, I often hear comments such as "I've always wanted to write" or "One of these days I plan to write a book." The idea sounds romantic but the reality faces you each morning as you sit down to write. Ideas, format, technology, publication and marketing swirl through your head as you wonder what you were thinking.

In my book, I will document the joys and challenges of writing over time. I have decided to offer this book free for anyone interested in the writing process. I hope to have it ready sometime this summer. Stay tuned.

 

Marital Property

I worked for many years as a psychologist helping people before, during and after their marriages. In the process I read many books about how to manage the challenges of marriage. I also struggled with insurance companies not wanting to pay for marriage counseling because it is not a disease.

I finally decided they are right. Marriage is an adventure, committment, contract and relationship. Each marriage has its own story. Making sense of marriage is better appraoched through stories than textbooks. Here is my story of a couple with everything going for them. Their success blinds them to what marriage is really about. See how they appraoched the mystery of their relationsip.
